Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions - Color Analysis

Q:  Who does color analysis benefit?

A:  Although women are traditionally the primary consumers of color analysis the process is for everyone.  We are born with our personal color and anyone old enough to sit still for the duration of the analysis can have an accurate analysis performed.  Color analysis is effective for all women, men, and children desiring to look and feel their best.  As one example, think of how much more pleasant the teenage years could become with an understanding of the colors that enhanced facial beauty while minimizing facial blemishes.

Q:  I remember the Seasonal Color analysis from "Color Me Beautiful" in the 1980's.  How is 12-tone Personal Color Analysis different?

A:  The Seasonal Color analysis offered countless women a wonderful introduction to color analysis, but focused on the 4 "true" seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.  Seasonal Color analysis failed to account for individuals who fall between the "true" seasons because they have neutral skin tone as opposed to the warm or cool skin tones associated with the "true" seasons.  Two-thirds of the population have neutral skin tones so Seasonal Color analysis truly was effective for only a minority of clients.  The 12-tone analysis is a system that improves upon Seasonal Color analysis by expanding the 4 "true" seasonal categories to 12 tones thereby capturing the entire populace with precision and accuracy.

Q:  I have other Personal Color Analysis options available.  Why is All About Color's Personal Color analysis effective?

A:  Other forms of Personal Color analysis rely on the subjective opinion and methodology of the analyst.  Many of these methods do not involve the client in the process, but rather the client is shown their colors after the conclusion of the analysis.  All About Color adheres strictly to the Sci/ART system of color analysis designed to maximize the objective use of color science and minimize the subjective aspects.  In addition to evaluating in a neutral gray environment under full spectrum lights to ensure accurate color determination, the Sci/ART system uses full size draping that includes the client in the visual determination.  Clients will participate in the process and leave with complete confidence in their results.

Q:  Will I like my colors?

A:  Not all clients love their colors immediately, however, all clients love immediately what their colors do for them.  In time your will love your colors because of the beauty, harmony, balance, and wellness they offer you.

Q:  May I bring someone with me?

A:  All About Color encourages participation of close friends, spouses, siblings, mature children...anyone who will view you less critically than you will view yourself.  The All About Color process reveals your true colors to anyone witnessing the analysis.  They will be amazed at how glamourous you appear when revealed in your true colors.

Q:  How long does an All About Color analysis take?

A:  The typical analysis runs from 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours including make-up application, a reveal, and photos.  The process may take longer depending on client questions.  All About Color is committed to client satisfaction and will devote whatever time required to ensure every client leaves their analysis feeling confident about their results.

Q:  What if I color my hair or wear colored contact lenses, will that change my color analysis?

A:  No.  During an analysis the client is covered by a gray drape and hair cap to isolate the client's face.  Because the client's skin is the focus of the analysis hair color and eye color have little impact.  Clients should not use self tanner on the face for the 2 weeks preceeding their analysis.  Ladies will also be asked to remove make-up immediately prior to the analysis.
